David Fletcher will be presenting recent work, which will include planning work, commercial projects, and speculative works.
David Fletcher is an Urban Designer and Landscape Architect, professor, and writer. David is also the founding principal of Fletcher Studio, an innovative and award winning practice based in San Francisco. The firm provides comprehensive professional services in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, and Environmental Planning and works range of projects including civic spaces, parks, and regional planning projects. The firm is committed to a collaborative and contextual approach to spatial design practice and to the planning of unique and sustainable landscapes, urban spaces, and living infrastructures. Design and planning solutions come from the interaction with the many people, processes, histories, policies, economies and ecologies that are specific to a place. Fletcher Studio was selected as the winner of the Revision Dallas Competition, a collaborative effort with David Baker + Partners Architects. The firm also placed 2nd in an international design and planning competition, "A New Infrastructure", sponsored by SCI_Arc and the Architects Newspaper. His work on the Los Angeles River was given an AIA Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design in 2007. Fletcher Studio's work is presently being exhibited at La Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, Paris and at the San Francisco Craft and Design Museum. Their work has been exhibited at the Acadia 2010, The Boston Center for the Arts, the University of Toronto, UC Berkeley, the San Jose Biennial, The MAK Center Vienna, and SCI_Arc.
