He spent eight years working for Tamotsu Yagi Design, after which he opened MATOCREATIVE, continuing to work in the areas of clothing and costume design, space design, and art direction. He spent two years as guest faculty in the Design and Technology department of the San Francisco Art Institute. His most recent project was for Bardessono, a modern luxury hotel, with LEED platinum certification where he served as a creative force for the staff uniform and hotel shop concept; and is currently buyer for the shop.
