Discussions > Film about Urban Planning, screening in San Francisco

I wanted to bring your attention to a film that I feel would be of great interest to the Linden Tree community.

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco will present a one-week engagement of the film URBANIZED, by Gary Hustwit, director of HELVETICA and OBJECTIFIED, between Friday, Nov. 4, and Thursday, Nov. 10.

URBANIZED, which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, examines the challenges of balancing housing, mobility, public space, civic engagement, economic development, and environmental policy. The film frames a global discussion on the future of cities, and explores how ordinary citizens can have a great impact upon the improvement of the cities in which they live. Information about the film and these screenings can be found here: http://www.ybca.org/urbanized

Ticket prices for this film are $10, and YBCA is located at 701 Mission St. in San Francisco, just a few blocks from the Powell and Montgomery Street BART/Muni stations.
